Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14 20th, 1980) is an American actor, singer, and dancer. She began her Broadway career with musicals including Wicked and Legally Blonde, and Hair. In You Can't Take It With You her role, she received the Tony Award as Best Featured actor in the Play. Tony Award-winning actress Annaleigh Ashford grew up in a world of her career collaborating with acclaimed directors and actors across stage as well as television. She keeps working on that award-winning project with various new projects in the pipeline. Ashford will be next in the role of Kumail Nanjiani as part of the Hulu restricted production Welcome to Chippendales from creator Robert Siegel premiering on November 22. Ashford currently is working on Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust alongside Sarah Paulson, Ebon Moss Bachrach and Ebon Mosch-Bachrach. This is undoubtedly a Hulu Original and will be streamed through Disney DTC. Ashford will return to Broadway in 2023 in which he'll be starring alongside Josh Groban opposite Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production will be held taking place at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. The show will be led by Thomas Kail and produced by Jeffrey Seller, the team who brought you Hamilton. Ashford has most recently played Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment inspired by the crisis in America that picked into Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters as the nation's first impeachment hearings in more than 100 years. Ashford played for two seasons in the CBS hit comedy B Positive. The show was co-created by Marco Pennette, Chuck Lorre and Linda Lavin. It also featured Ben Vereen and Hector Elizondo. Additional Broadway credits include Sunday in the Park with George Wicked Legally Blonde and the original role of Lauren for Kinky Boots a performance for which she was awarded a second Tony Award nomination. Ashford was born and raised in Denver she now splits her life between Los Angeles, and New York.
